Our yak meat is grassfed and finished. It is also 100% yak meat, we do not sell yak crosses of any kind. We process at a small USDA inspected facility in Colorado Springs. All of our meat is cryopacked for freshness. Inventory is limited.
We have attempted to make the process as simple as possible but there are some things we just can't avoid. We are small ranch with limited production. It is impossible to unitize the production of all of our products. A package or ribeye steaks will vary in weight from about 0.8 pounds to around 1.3 pounds. We have looked at a number of internet shopping carts and have been unable to find one that can accommodate pricing by the pound. You won't find any Walmart pricing on our site. The prices are based on production cost and our profit margin. No prices end in 99, 97, or 77, we think you are smarter than that.
We ship in Control Temp insulated containers via UPS or FedEx ground in most cases. Dry Ice is used to keep the temperature low. Air shipment is available but not usually necessary. Your shipment should arrive in a frozen or very cold state. Meat you pick up at the grocery store is usually around 40℉.
We have a minimum order of 15 pounds. This is primarily to ensure the shipment stays cold but your shipping cost per pound of meat decreases as the package weight increases. There is a container/dry ice/handling fee of $20.00. We ship on Mondays to ensure no weekend delays.
We also sell primal, whole, half and mixed quarters. These are available on a pre-order basis. You average price per pound for a whole yak will be approximately $5.50.
Our ordering process goes like this:
1. Fill out Grunniens Ranch Order Form and hit the "Submit" button.
2. When we receive the form, we will verify inventory, weigh the items that are priced per pound, and determine the shipping cost.
3. We then send you an invoice with your total. (We use PayPal to allow you to pay with your PayPal account or a credit card. You do not have to have a PayPal account, it's some sort of internet magic!) We never see your credit card information.
4. When payment is received, we will ship your order or deliver if prearranged. Shipping Terms
