Yaks are definitely awesome. Who knows if they are your pot of gold. The money comes from strong marketing and great customer support. Both are difficult for the small farmer/rancher. Then, if you can do all the promotional stuff, you have to deal with the legal issues. Where can you legally sell yak milk, butter, or tea for that matter. Are you ready for a regulatory raid?
I am certainly not trying to discourage our ranch's clientele. It is important to do your home work and really rally for local and small farms. Yaks are cool. Monsanto, as far asI know, is not trying to make them glow in the dark yet. Vote for farm freedom… and rainbows!
