It all started a few weeks ago when we received a call from Chef Jensen Cummings. We knew a bit about him as we had found a few articles on the interwebs about him serving yak at events in the past . He had recently opened a new restaurant call the Slotted Spoon. The cool thing was they were running a contest on their Facebook Page to pick the March Meatball of the Month. The Slotted Spoon is a Meatball Eatery! What a great idea but really, can meatballs carry a restaurant? Anyway back to the story… Jensen needed ground yak for the month as yak was way ahead in the Facebook polling. No problem, we had it. My partner Sean from the Hey Hey Yak Ranch was coming up with a delivery on the 28th. Jensen called at about about 6:30 and asked where the ground yak was. Hadn't heard from Sean yet so I called, didn't get an answer several times. Finally I got him. Crazy thing was he hit a patch of black ice, spun around on HWY 285 and rolled his stock trailer. But not to worry he was back on the road, stock trailer and all, and would make the drop before the Slotted Spoon closed!
So anyway, can meatballs carry a restaurant? A good friend of mine and a real jerk, Greg (pictured above) went find out. To put it simply.
